Our Therapeutic Approach
Our approach at Physiotherapy & Counselling Centre is to provide evidence-based psychotherapy and counselling, which means that we use techniques and interventions that have been proven to be effective through research. This approach allows us to provide the most effective treatment for our clients, and achieve the best possible outcomes for their mental health and well-being.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): Focuses on identifying and changing negative thought patterns and behaviors that contribute to anxiety and depression. CBT helps individuals develop coping strategies and problem-solving skills to manage their emotions better.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT): A form of cognitive behavioral therapy that encourages individuals to accept their thoughts and feelings rather than trying to eliminate them. It teaches mindfulness and values-based behavior to help individuals lead a more fulfilling life despite the presence of anxiety or depression.
Mindfulness-Based Therapies: Mindfulness practices, such as mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR) and mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT), can be effective in reducing symptoms of anxiety and depression. These therapies focus on developing present-moment awareness and non-judgmental acceptance.
Interpersonal Therapy (IPT): Focuses on improving the quality of an individual’s relationships and communication skills. It aims to address interpersonal problems that may contribute to anxiety and depression.
“You don’t have to be perfect to take the first step towards recovery. All you need is the willingness to try.“
